This division is designed for 7 & 8 year old players to build on what they learned in the 6u division and continue playing competitive baseball. The players will also continue developing their baseball knowledge & skills and the education process learning all of the necessary rules to eventually play in the older NYCE \ WYAL age groups.

Here are the basic rules for the 2019 WYAL 7/8u division:
- Born after date - 4/30/2010
- Field Size - 35 ft mound / 55 ft bases
- 1st 2 innings coach pitch, middle 2 innings player pitch & last 2 innings coach pitch
- Time - no new inning after 1 hours & 45 minutes
- Innings Played & # of umps - 6 innings & 1 umpire ($25 per team)
- Leading & Stealing is NOT allowed
- Drop 3rd strikes are NOT enforced
- Bats Allowed - Wood bats & USA bats
- Runs per inning - 5 runs per inning, 6th inning is open
- Lineups - Universal
- Mercy Rule - 15 after 3 innings, 12 after 4 innings & 10 after 5 innings
