About Mets Sandlot Baseball League
The Mets Sandlot Baseball League was started in 1968
to provide great baseball experiences for youth
baseball players ranging from ages 10u to 21u.
At its peak during the late 1980's and early 1990's
the Mets Sandlot Baseball League had over 150 teams,
including some great travel teams.
The Bayside Yankees, Whitestone Knights, Youth Service,
Bonnies, Flushing Tigers, Long Island Mets, Astoria Youth
and several others where all a part of this elite league.
In 2012 we have decided to restart the league
with a generation of new youth baseball players
under the leadership of our President John Procida.

For 2021, we offer the following leagues \
programs to our dedicated players:
1. NYCE (New York City Elite) - for spring and summer seasons we offer local travel teams the opportunity to highly competitive local travel league games against other local travel teams. There is no longer the need to commute out to long island and other states for tournaments. Our local travel teams have the ability to play in a great, competitive local league.
Currently we have the following divisions:
12u 60/90, 13/14/15u, 15/16/17u
2. MSBL Tournaments - Through-out the 2020 baseball season we plan to have several tournaments. We usually base the tournament schedule around holidays so we look forward to tournaments being schedule over Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Halloween weekends.

History of how we re-started Mets Sandlot \ NYCE \ WBF
The resurgence of the MSBL started with WBF Baseball Program
in the fall of 2012 when two coaches wanted to extend
the Bayside summer season into the fall.
At the time there was no Fall programs in northern queens
and the other fall programs from the other local leagues
where cancelled due to not having enough players.
So we decided to put the initial fall program together.
We where able to get enough players for two teams,
and ended up playing 8 games during the
September and October months in 2012.
We initially decided to make this league a free of charge,
developmental league where the players will not only
play games, but also learn about the game and the
proper way to play it. Many of the players from the
initial 2012 season where able to improve their
skills in preparation for their spring seasons
the following year.
The WBF Fall League grew to 4 teams and 65 players in 2013,
9 teams and 133 players in 2014 and 150 players in 2015.
We also held our First Annual Season Ending Award Ceremony
on a chilly day in November.
In 2015 we decided to put together a New York City based
Travel League and the NYCE (New York City Elite)
Travel league was born. We started with the
9/10u, 11/12u and 13/14u divisions but have also
added the 15/16u &, Senior divisions
over the past seasons.
In 2017, due to popular demand, the
1st official NYCE Fall League was put together.
We look to continue to grow the league and continue to
provide the best competition through out
the five NYC boroughs.
Also 2017 was the 1st year that we had all
five NYC boroughs represented in the league.
We also had our first team from Westchester county
and look to keep expanding our borders
into the surrounding areas of NYC.
In 2018 & 2019 we had our finest years
with over 1000 total games scheduled across
all divisions and spring, summer and fall seasons.
Our vision is to improve the overall athletic talent
in the New York City and surrounding areas.
We also look to give the players a positive experience
that they will remember the rest of their lives
and also learn many different life lessons
that they will use throughout their life.
We do thank all of the players, parents, sponsors,
umpires, and coaches/managers for their great support
and dedication to the program.
